Man Says SUV That Killed His Wife Had No Driver

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - A Colorado Springs man says a driverless SUV rolled into his wife and fatally injured her in a shopping mall parking lot.

The Colorado Springs Gazette website reported Wednesday (http://bit.ly/oCljU9) that 82-year-old Elinor Granzow died after she was pinned under the SUV.

Her husband, 78-year-old Ken Granzow, tells the newspaper that the vehicle rolled out of a parking space and struck his wife on Tuesday as they were walking toward a mall entrance.

Granzow says police watched surveillance video and confirmed that no one was at the wheel.

The death was initially thought to have been caused by a hit-and-run driver. Police have said they spoke to a "person of interest" but officials haven't released any other details of the death.
