'Wild,' 'Rosewater' Playing At Telluride Film Fest
TELLURIDE, Colo. (AP) — Movie directors, film lovers and a handful of stars are gathered in southwestern Colorado for the 41st annual Telluride Film Festival.
The festival opens Friday and runs through Monday.
The lineup includes the film based on Cheryl Strayed's best-selling memoir "Wild", starring Reese Witherspoon, and Jon Stewart's directorial debut, "Rosewater", a political drama. "Birdman" starring Michael Keaton will also get its North American debut at the festival.
In keeping with tradition, the festival didn't announce its lineup until Thursday. Organizers have a reputation for picking films that go on to win or get nominated for Oscars, including "12 Years a Slave" and "The King's Speech."
