2 Seriously Hurt In Rural Weld County Crash That Involved 5 Vehicles
(CBS4) - Two people were seriously injured in a Thursday morning crash involving five vehicles in Weld County. It happened just before 8 a.m. on a rural stretch of Highway 34, about 7 miles west of Interstate 76 and some distance away from Fort Morgan.
Copter4 video showed several cars with varying degrees of damage as well as skid marks on the highway. Police told CBS4 they expect they'll cite one of the drivers for crossing the centerline.
One of the cars that was damaged was about 20 feet off the roadway and was rolled over in a field. Two other cars apparently struck each other head on.
So far it's not clear what the condition is at the hospital of the two people who had to be taken there by helicopters. They had to be extricated from the vehicles they were in beforehand.
Highway 34 was shut down for approximately 3 hours afterwards.
