'Washed Ashore' Makes Maiden Voyage To Denver Zoo
DENVER (CBS) - A new traveling exhibit, "Washed Ashore: Art to Save the Sea," is coming to the Denver Zoo.
The exhibition features 15 sculptures of sea life made from debris collected from beaches.
In a statement, Denver Zoo spokesman Sean Andersen-Vie said the sculptures are meant to "serve as a call to action, encouraging Zoo guests to recycle and prevent ocean pollution."
The grand opening for "Washed Ashore" is Saturday, September 24th at 8:30 a.m.
Later that evening, beginning at 6:30 p.m., a night-viewing of the sculptures will occur, with additional kid-friendly activities and entertainment happening, as well as a meet and greet with the artist.
Sculptures will be displayed throughout the zoo, and are included with regular admission.
