Vandals Go On Tagging Spree In Loveland
LOVELAND, Colo. (CBS4) - Police are searching for a suspect or suspects who targeted dozens of properties across Loveland.
Thompson Valley High School was among the locations tagged Saturday night into Sunday morning. Police believe there may be more than one person or groups involved in the tagging of 30 public and private properties.
Windows, buildings, and even a horse trailer were targeted.
"I think we're at 30 phone calls right now from different places the taggers had spray painted," Sgt. Mike Halloron with Loveland police said.
The vandals made it onto the roof of Thompson Valley High School where they painted on siding and the ventilation system. Crews were left cleaning up the mess on Tuesday.
Halloron says locations also hit were Trucott Elementary School as well as sandstone benches, signs and underpasses along the Hike and Bike Trail. Police believe the locations were done by separate vandals.
"The art work, for a lack of a better term, is different in the two," Halloron said. "There are distinct differences in the style and with the colors."
While folks clean up the mess, police are hoping someone has a tip that can lead them to the people responsible for the unwanted paint jobs.
"It's going to take the city workers a long time to get up and down the path to clean all of that up; in addition to the citizens who had their fences and cars and other private items tagged," Halloron said.
The responsible party or parties could find themselves slapped with a felony charge of criminal mischief.
