U.S. Army Enlists Colorado's First Woman Into Combat Role
DENVER (CBS4) - The U.S. Army has enlisted Colorado's first female into the Infantry.
Pvt. Kayleigh Schlag was sworn-in Friday afternoon at the Denver Military Entrance Processing Station downtown. She joined other young men and women enlisting in their respective branches.
Schlag joined as part of a government initiative to lift all gender-based restrictions on military service.
Schlag is a native of Denver and attended Heritage High School in Littleton.
