Truck Smashes Into Arvada Home

ARVADA, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Arvada are trying to figure out what caused the driver of a truck to crash into a home.

It happened at 60th and Easley in Arvada about 1:45 Thursday afternoon.

The truck crashed into the recently-remodeled kitchen of the home, causing a lot of damage.

No one inside the home was hurt. A mother and her infant son were inside at the time, the mother was in the basement wrapping Christmas presents, the baby was asleep.

"Absolutely could have been worse, he could have hit a pack of school kids or school bus or something like that and could have been a much more serious situation," said Scott Pribble with the Arvada Fire Dept.

The driver was rushed to the hospital for treatment. Authorities believe the driver had a pre-existing medical condition that caused him to blackout.

Crews were at the home Thursday night, trying to weatherproof where the truck crashed into the kitchen, so the family can return home.
