Tornado Damages House Southeast Of Colorado Springs
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4)- A family in Colorado Springs was cleaning up a big mess after a tornado hit their home on Thursday.
The tornado was first spotted near the Colorado Springs Airport on the southeast side of the city. It eventually ripped two holes in the roof of the Cusic's home, located east of Fountain, and mangled the garage door. It also catapulted a camper into a nearby field.
"The window just blew open. It was just total chaos after that," said homeowner George Cusic.
Cusic was inside when the tornado hit his house.
"It was going down through there lickety-split. It was pretty crazy," said Cusic.
"Thank God everyone's okay. The house can be repaired and fixed. It's an inconvenience but it could have been a heckuva lot worse," said Cusic.
A tornado warning was in effect at the time in the area.
