Thornton Closes Roads Because Of Street Flooding

THORNTON, Colo. (CBS4)- Thornton closed several roads Wednesday evening because of street flooding caused by heavy rain and hail.

The following streets were closed due to flooding and most had reopened by midday Thursday:

128th Avenue between Quebec Street and Riverdale Road. The alternate route for eastbound 128th Avenue traffic is Quebec Street south to Riverdale Road, then Riverdale Road northeast to Henderson Road or Quebec Street north to 136th Avenue, 136th Avenue east to Yosemite Street, the Yosemite Street south to Riverdale Road. The alternate route for westbound 128th Avenue traffic is Yosemite Street north to 136th Avenue, 136th Avenue west to Quebec Street, then Quebec Street south to 128th Avenue.

Riverdale Road between Henderson Road and 130th Avenue. The alternate route for northeast-bound Riverdale Road traffic is Quebec Street north to 136th Avenue, 136th Avenue east to Yosemite Street, the Yosemite Street south to Riverdale Road. The alternate route for southwest-bound Riverdale Road traffic is Yosemite Street north to 136th Avenue, 136th Avenue west to Quebec Street, the Quebec Street south to Riverdale Road.

York Street between the E-470 interchange and State Highway 7. The alternate route for northbound York Street traffic is 152nd Avenue west to Washington Street, Washington Street north to State Highway 7, then east on State Highway 7 to York Street. The alternate route for southbound traffic on York Street is State Highway 7 west to Washington Street, Washington Street south to 152nd Avenue, then 152nd Avenue east to York Street.
