This Week: Lindsay Lohan's Community Service & Letterman's Final Three
This week, one mean girl needs to finish some community service and a late-night host is ready to say his final goodbye.
Actress Lindsay Lohan was almost in a lot of trouble after not showing up to court-ordered community service, but the “Mean Girls” star has reportedly finally begun according to People magazine. Lohan was ordered to finish 125 hours of community service by a judge after a 2012 Santa Monica traffic accident.
After serving only nine hours initially, Lohan has until May 28 to finish the rest of her hours at the Duffeld Children’s Center in Broolyn.
Lohan originally stated that the commute to community service was hindering her from doing her work, explaining that it took her 90 minutes to get there and that it cost about $76 an hour for private transportation.
Late-night legend David Letterman is gearing up for the last three episodes of his iconic run on “The Late Show.” This week, Letterman announced the guests for his final three shows, and the names are pretty high-profile.
Tom Hanks, Bill Murray and Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder will close out the remaining shows from May 18-20. Of course, Letterman’s guest list for the final show on May 20 still remains a mystery.
So, it could be anything from a huge star-studded event to an emotional rollercoaster…or both!
While delivering the commencement speech at the Art Institute of Chicago this week, rapper Kanye West acknowledged his remarks about former President George W. Bush.
“I’m sorry, that was just my opinion. I’m a pop artist, so my medium is public opinion and the world is my canvas,” West said. “I’m sorry is something you can use a lot. It gives you the opportunity to give your opinion, apologize for it and give your opinion again. People say you should not be sorry for your opinion.
We’re not quite sure if that’s an actual apology, but it might be the closest to one you’ll get with West.
CBS' fall schedule was announced this week, with a slate of new shows and returning favorites set up for some exciting fall premieres. The network revealed seven new shows, inluding DC Comic's "Supergirl," family comedy "Life in Pieces," Jane Lynch's "Angel from Hell," medical drama "Code Black," Bradley Cooper-produced "Limitless," and two mid-season shows "Rush Hour" and "Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders."
Even Stephen Colbert showed up to the event to hilariously promote his taking over of the "Late Show" in September. CBS is easily setting it self up to be the #1 network once again next season.
First Britney Spears, then Mariah Carey, and now Jennifer Lopez. The 45-year-old, Bronx-raised singer will be starting a Las Vegas residency at Planet Hollywood starting January 20, 2016.
Tickets go on sale May 16 to the general public.
