Teen Skier Dies After Accident At Copper Mountain
COPPER MOUNTAIN, Colo. (AP) -- Coroner's officials say an 18-year-old skier from Wisconsin has died after veering off a trail at Copper Mountain resort in Colorado and into a valve shed used for snowmaking.
The Summit County coroner says high school senior Patrick Sievert of Pewaukee died of skull fractures Thursday.
He had arrived in Colorado earlier in the week. Coroner's officials say he was on an intermediate trail with his family Thursday morning when he veered off the trail for an unknown reason.
Sievert was wearing a helmet.
At least 11 people have died after visiting Colorado ski resorts this season.
