DENVER (AP) — Authorities have released the name of a man who was shot and killed by an off-duty police officer after allegedly robbing a Denver bank.
The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner identified the man Friday as 58-year-old Mark Andrew Reed.
Police say Reed, of Denver, was shot at a U.S. Bank branch on East Colfax Avenue on Saturday morning. He was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
Chief Robert White has said the suspect pointed what appeared to be a gun at the officer after robbing the bank. No other details have been released.
