Suspect Arrested In Hit & Run That Left Soldier Dead
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4)- One week after a deadly hit and run, police in Colorado Springs have arrested a suspect. The incident that happened May 27 killed Fort Carson soldier Christopher Wheeler.
Wheeler, 19, and a friend were riding their motorcycles south on Rangewood Drive in Colorado Springs when police said the soldiers collided with a car making a left turn.
Police arrested who they believe to be the driver of that car, Michael Wesley Conyer, 31, on Friday. He is facing charges of hit and run as well as various other traffic offenses.
Detectives also located the vehicle in the deadly collision.
