Summit County Wildfire Grows To 220 Acres, 30 Percent Contained
SILVERTHORNE, Colo. (CBS4) — Summit County firefighters are battling a wildfire that has scorched more than 220 acres. There was 30 percent containment at 5 p.m. and total containment was expected by Sunday evening.
About 50 firefighters responded to the fire burning north of Silverthorne on Friday night and more were sent in on Saturday.
No injuries or damage to structures have been reported. There are no structures threatened and no evacuations ordered.
The fire is burning on national forest land and was initially called the Cemetery Ridge fire but the name has been changed to the Brush Creek fire.
There are flight restrictions in the area, all aircraft, including drones are restricted within five miles of the fire 5,000 feet above the ground.
