Store Customers, Employees Subdue Rape Suspect
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) - Customers and employees of a grocery store rescued a woman who says a man was trying to rape her.
The suspect being held until police arrived. Witnesses say everyone jumped into action when a woman ran out of the restroom screaming.
"You just hear this woman screaming, 'He tried to rape me; he tried to rape me,' and then the guys from Starbucks that was closing, a few of the bag boys from Safeway, the janitor guys that were cleaning up Safeway; they all just ran and kept the guy from leaving the store." witness Barbara Grunkemeyer said.
The suspect was arrested by police and is charges of attempted assault.
