Stolen African Spears Returned, Suspects Still At Large

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - African spears stolen from a historic building in Boulder have been returned, but there's still no sign of the thieves.

The theft took place just before midnight on New Year's Eve. The four men broke into the Historic Highland Building at 885 Arapahoe Avenue through a third floor window that they forced open. They then damaged sculptures, broke glass showcases and stole the spears, which were on display.

The men also took cookies from the kitchen before leaving.

Surveillance images captured several images of the men.

A lawyer told Boulder police this week he could arrange to return the items, but refused to tell investigators who had them because of "attorney-client privilege."
