State Takes Action On Colorado Springs Counselor
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - The state of Colorado says a licensed Colorado Springs professional counselor whose academic credentials have been under review can no longer practice.
Online records show the stipulation was entered Sept. 12 for Edwin Shockney.
The Gazette has reported Shockney has no bachelor's or master's degree from schools he attended. State law requires licensed professional counselors to have a master's degree in counseling and a doctorate in psychology from accredited schools. The state is investigating.
Shockney has previously said any accusations that he is a fraud are "groundless."
