Snow Falls In Colorado Mountains

ARAPAHOE BASIN, Colo. (CBS4)- Parts of the high country are seeing their first snow of the season.

At the Continental Divide there was a dusting of snow overnight. Nearby at Arapahoe Basin Ski Area, they're planning on making their own snow starting next week.

According to CBS4's Ed Greene, that amount of snow is typical for this time of year in the Colorado mountains, especially at altitude of 11,000 feet.

Copper Mountain Ski Area also had a dusting of snow. The ski area has an opening date set for Nov. 4.

Closer to the Denver metro area, Loveland Ski Area also saw a dusting of snow.

Loveland and A-Basin typically compete each ski season to see which location can open first.
