Skier Survives Being Caught In Avalanche
OPHIR, Colo. (CBS4) – A backcountry skier survived being caught in an avalanche on Sunday.
It happened near Ophir in southwest Colorado.
The man was taken to the Telluride airport with a broken leg but he is alive.
San Miguel County officials said the skier triggered the 1,500 foot slide.
