Shriners In Denver For Huge Convention
DENVER (CBS4) - The Shriners convention is under way in Denver this holiday weekend.
Thousands of Shriners are in town for the 137th Imperial Session. Sunday's big event was the Shriners Marketplace in the Colorado Convention Center. The Shriners are best known for their generous contributions to the community.
"We have 22 children's hospitals that have all the facilities except cash registers," a Shriner told CBS4. "We service children with orthopedic and burn injuries and that is our greatest philanthropy."
The Shriners have been getting ready for Monday's big Fourth of July parade, which starts at 1:30 p.m. at 14th and Glenarm.
