Search On For Accused Deputy Who Went On The Lam
ELBERT COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - The search is on for a former sheriff's deputy now considered to be a dangerous man.
Officers searched the fields near the El Paso and Elbert County border Monday night for Randal Scott Alire, 42.
Alire was arrested earlier in October for sexual assault and domestic violence after police say he held his ex-girlfriend at gunpoint. He's been on the loose since, violating his bond.
Police said they have found Alire's vehicle and believe he's now on foot. Police were in contact with him by phone but he has since turned it off and it can't be tracked.
Deputies fear Alire may be suicidal and they're urging homeowners to lock their doors.
