Search For Driver In Deadly Hit & Run Continues

ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)- Investigators have identified the woman who died in a hit and run accident in Adams County Thursday night.

Leyla Sahs, 33, from Denver was walking barefoot in the middle of Picadilly Road when she was hit by a white Toyota Camry. That driver stopped.

Then Sahs was hit by one, possibly two, other cars. No one else stopped.

Investigators said the car that drove away may be a white or light gray sedan.

There are a lot of questions in the case. Perhaps the most puzzling, why Sahs was outside alone, without any shoes.

"She didn't have a vehicle close by. She was not dressed appropriately for the weather conditions, it was pretty cold last night. Once we can contact her family, we're hoping they can help us piece together the picture of how this young woman ended up so far north," said State Trooper Heather Cobler.

Anyone with information is asked to call Colorado State Patrol.
