Safety Improvements Made To Intersection After 2 Kids Killed In Hit & Run
DENVER (CBS4)- Safety improvements are underway at an intersection where two children were killed in a hit and run crash.
Crews installed new and larger stop signs at the intersection of 14th and Yosemite on Wednesday.
The crosswalk was also repainted with fresh stripes. More signage was also added to alert drivers of the crosswalk.
The safety improvements are designed to get drivers to pay attention and slow down.
In March, Ah Zet Khan, 6, and his brother Za May Khan, 8, were struck and killed at the corner of 14th and Yosemite.
They were crossing the street with their mother, Zamar Bee. She survived but has critical injuries.
Bee and her sons fled Myanmar as refugees and were searching for a better life in Colorado when they were struck.
