RTD Approves Hybrid Plan For Northwest Light Rail
DENVER (CBS4) - The Regional Transportation District board unanimously approved the FasTracks plan for the northwest metro area on Monday.
The hybrid plan would build a commuter trail from Denver's Union Station to Church Ranch Boulevard. Buses would take passengers the rest of the way to Longmont.
The plan is met with controversy because it could come with a tax hike to speed up rail construction to Longmont.
Before tax payers have their say in November the Denver Regional Council of Governments must approve the plan.
