Romney Supporters Take Bus Tour While Obama Campaigns In Colorado

DENVER (CBS4) - President Obama's Colorado tour is not going unnoticed by the Mitt Romney campaign.

Romney supporters organized a bus tour of the Front Range Wednesday afternoon. It made stops in Adams and Jefferson counties, along with Sports Authority Field at Mile High.

The group on board included Colorado Rep. Corey Gardner and former Rep. Bob Beauprez. Also on the bus was Ohio Sen. Rob Portman, who has been getting a lot of buzz as a possible vice president choice for Romney.

"I'll do everything I can to help Mitt Romney from the U.S. Senate. I just got elected in 2010 to represent Ohio and I believe our country is in trouble and we need Mitt Romney and I will help him all I can, but I'll probably just stay in the United States Senate," Portman said.

The Romney campaign says it chose Mile High as a stop on the tour because that's where President Obama accepted the Democratic nomination four years ago this month.
