Rockies Send Gonzalez To Sky Sox For Rehab

DENVER (AP) -- The Colorado Rockies are sending outfielder Carlos Gonzalez to the Colorado Springs Sky Sox for a rehabilitation assignment.

The team said that Gonzalez would play for the Sky Sox for their three-game series against the Nashville Sounds, which starts Wednesday.

Last year's National League batting champ has been on the 15-day disabled list since July 22 with a right wrist strain. He took a round of batting practice before Tuesday's game at Coors Field for the first time since being injured.

Before his first trip to the DL, Gonzalez was hitting .289 with 15 homers, 56 RBIs, 63 runs and 16 stolen bases.
