Renovations At Dove Valley Designed To Give Broncos Fans Better Experience
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4)- Broncos fans who plan to attend this year's training camp at Dove Valley can expect some big changes after major renovations at the Paul D. Bowlen Memorial Broncos Centre over the past two years.
The team said all the changes were made to enhance the training camp experience.
The berm where Broncos fans can watch training camp practice has been expanded to include a lot more people.
"In addition to almost tripling the size of it we moved it about 20 feet back from the sidelines," said Denver Broncos VP of Operations Chip Conway.
One Broncos fan visiting Denver from Dallas hopes to watch a practice before he leaves town.
"I'm going to be playing football for my team and I sort of want to know what it's like," said Broncos fan Zack Keith.
Above the berm what used to be a dirt lot is now a beautiful lawn and tree area that will have vendors for fans to enjoy during practices. It even contains misters to keep folks cool.
Fans will able be able to access real bathrooms which is a big step up from port-a-potties used in years past.
The parking is still limited but there is another option this season.
"We do have a connection with the Arapahoe County Sheriff, a dirt lot directly west of the facility that they're allowing us to use as well," said Conway.
Inside the new field house is a new team store which also features several windows that look out upon the indoor practice field.
"The enhancement is more about the experience of camp as opposed to creating bigger numbers. Five thousand is what we felt safe to hold in this complex and we can do that on a more regular basis now," said Conway.
"It's big. I can just imagine being on that field," said Keith.
