Rafters Cancel Trips After Injuries, Death
FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) - Rafters are canceling their trips on the Poudre River following five injuries and a death.
Mountain Whitewater Descents owner Brad Modesitt says business is down at least 25 percent, even though the water is the best it has been in years, according to the Fort Collins Coloradoan.
Last week a Kansas man died on a rafting trip on the Cache la Poudre River west of Fort Collins of drowning and complications of heart disease.
Officials restricted some recreational access to the Poudre because of the flows. Inner tubes, air mattresses and small inflatable rafts have been banned until the waters calm down.
