President Obama Shows Off New Plan Booklet At City Park
DENVER (CBS4) - Colorado was one of four states President Barack Obama targeted Wednesday on his campaign trail.
Obama visited Denver's City Park Wednesday afternoon where he pushed to get out the vote in Colorado.
Colorado was one of six stops in just four days for the president.
"We are pulling an all-nighter, no sleep, quite a bit of coffee," Obama told the crowd at City Park.
It's hyper-campaigning in the home stretch and the race is razor-close in Colorado making the turnout to rallies important.
"I've come to ask you for your vote," Obama said.
More than 300,000 Coloradans have already voted with 6,000 more Republicans than Democrats.
"You can choose to turn back the clock 50 years for women and immigrants and gays, or in this election you can stand up for that basic principle that we are all created equal," Obama said.
The president is trying to beat back a late-game surge by Mitt Romney. He held up a 20-page booklet his campaign just released which lays out his second term agenda and pushes back on Republican charges that he has no plan.
"Unlike Mitt Romney I'm actually proud to talk about what's in my plan," he said.
Yet time for talk is running short as 16,000 supporters called for four more years. The president called on Colorado to make it happen.
"I believe in you Colorado, and I'm asking you to keep believing in me."
Wednesday's was Obama's 10th visit to Colorado this year and he told the crowd not to be surprised if he returns again before Election Day.
