Police: Teen Bought Video Game After Bank Robbery
CANON CITY, Colo. (AP) — Authorities say they arrested a 19-year-old bank robbery suspect as he was driving home from Walmart with a new video game system.
The Canon City Record reports that Tyler Matthew Schnapp was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of robbing a Wells Fargo bank in Penrose. Court documents say Schnapp was armed and passed a note to a teller, who gave him about $1,300. Employees at a nearby credit union also reported that a man matching his description was acting strangely there later in the day.
A sheriff's deputy spotted Schnapp as he was driving home with the gaming system. Police say he told them he had lost his job and decided to rob the bank that morning.
Court records do not list his attorney.
