Police Search For Burrito Restaurant Robbers
LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Lakewood are trying to find two brazen thieves who violently robbed a burrito restaurant in the middle of the night.
The suspects walked into the Viva Burrito restaurant in the 6700 block of West Colfax Ave. in Lakewood at about 12:30 a.m. Friday. They demanded money from the night clerk.
One thief fired a handgun and wounded the clerk. The victim ran out of the restaurant. That's when the thieves grabbed the entire cash register and left.
Lakewood police hope surveillance pictures will help track down the suspects. The suspects are described as two Hispanic men, one with short dark hair, a yellow shirt, blue jeans and armed with some type of handgun; the other was wearing a maroon or red shirt with a panty hose-type stocking over his entire face and head.
They should both be considered armed and very dangerous. If anyone feels they have information that would assist detectives with the case, they asked to call the Lakewood Police Department at 303-987-7111
The clerk was treated at the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
