Police Mull Charges In Faked Colorado Springs Kidnapping
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) -- A 13-year-old girl could face criminal charges for allegedly falsely claiming she had been kidnapped.
Nine patrol officers and five detectives scrambled to find the girl after the family reported receiving several calls demanding a ransom.
Police found the girl early Wednesday morning unharmed at a friend's home.
Sgt. Steve Noblitt says the matter was a hoax and charges under consideration could land the girl in jail.
