Phone Issue Leads To More Than 50 False 911 Calls
LITTLETON, Colo. (AP) - A problem with phone service has led to false 911 calls to Jefferson County sheriff's officials.
Qwest Communications International Inc. says the false calls stopped Saturday.
Sheriff's deputies responded to more than 50 false 911 calls after the problem surfaced Friday. Qwest suspects it happened after a third-party contractor cut a cable Friday near Wadsworth Boulevard and Coal Mine Avenue.
Some residents lost phone service after the cut. Qwest expected to restore service to all of them by Sunday.
