Peyton Manning Has Been Playing With Plantar Fasciitis
DENVER (CBS4) - The football term is "sore foot." The clinical term is "plantar fasciitis."
Call it whatever you want, Peyton Manning has it as CBS4's Vic Lombardi reported Wednesday.
Manning played with the condition Sunday in Indianapolis, and it wasn't the first time this season. Head coach Gary Kubiak said Wednesday that Manning has been dealing with the soreness for a couple of weeks now.
Plantar fasciitis, also known as "jogger's foot," causes pain and inflammation in the heel and arch area at the bottom of the foot.
There are varying degrees, most of them very treatable.
Manning's brother Eli was also diagnosed with plantar fasciitis during the 2009 season with the New York Giants. He did not miss a single game.
Manning will continue to undergo treatment for the injury. He's expected to play this Sunday against the Chiefs.
The Broncos injury report currently lists the injury simply as "foot."
