Pallet Fire Sends Flames 40 Feet Into The Air
GREELEY, Colo. (CBS4)- Flames were seen shooting 40-50 feet high when wooden pallets started burning in Greeley Wednesday afternoon.
The fire broke out about 3:45 p.m. on the east side of Greeley at 1500 Ash Avenue at ET&T Pallets in the outdoor pallet storage area.
Witnesses described the fire as looking like a bonfire with all the pallets ablaze.
About 30 firefighters rushed to the scene. They worked to quickly knock down the bulk of the flames but they are still working on some hot spots.
Crews kept the fire from spreading to other structures but a few vehicles were destroyed, including semi trailers and an RV.
What caused the fire is still being investigated.
