Officials Believe Ducks & Geese Died Due To Waste Dumped In Pond

LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) - More than a dozen geese and ducks died on a pond in Lakewood.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service say someone polluted the retention pond near Wadsworth Boulevard and Highway 285.

Lab tests found commercial cooking oil waste was dumped in the pond repeatedly between Jan. 18 and Feb. 2.

A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
