Northglenn Police Officer Shot During Traffic Stop

NORTHGLENN, Colo. (AP) — A Northglenn police officer was shot multiple times and a suspect is in critical condition following a shootout.

Police say the shootings occurred early Saturday during a traffic stop.

Police say after a vehicle was pulled over, a man jumped out and began firing at police, hitting one of the officers several times. The officer returned fire, hitting the suspect.

The officer was treated at a hospital for minor injuries.

The names of the officer and the suspect are not being released.
