Murder Suspect Could Reach Plea Deal With Prosecutors
FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4)- CBS4 News has learned there may be a plea deal in one of the cases involving Travis Forbes. He is accused of attacking a woman in Fort Collins and setting her condominium on fire.
The Larimer County District Attorney will not confirm if a plea deal has been reached with Forbes, 31, but a disposition hearing is scheduled for Sept. 27. That is the kind of hearing where plea agreements are announced.
Forbes is charged with 12 counts in Fort Collins, including attempted murder, assault and arson for a July 5 incident. Forbes is also charged with murdering Kenia Monge. The 19-year-old's body was found Sept. 7 near Keenesburg after she went missing April 1.
When he was charged in Monge's, 19, murder, Forbes was already in custody for the attack and arson at a townhome in Fort Collins where a 30-year-old woman lived.
Investigators said the victim in the alleged attack jumped from the second floor bedroom window to escape the fire.
