Murder Charge Filed In Tow Truck Driver's Death
GOLDEN, Colo. (AP) - A Lakewood man accused of fatally striking a tow truck driver with his vehicle has been advised he faces nine charges including first-degree murder with extreme indifference, driving under the influence, and leaving the scene of an accident.
Zachariah Dobler, 28, is being held without bond. Prosecutors allege Dobler was driving a vehicle that struck 41-year-old Alan Eugene Dilley of Wheat Ridge as Dilley was preparing to tow a car involved in a crash at an Arvada intersection July 31. Dilley was thrown 120 feet and later died. Police arrested Dobler a few blocks away.
Prosecutors allege Dobler had driven his vehicle through cones that were set up to direct traffic through the intersection.
Dobler's lawyer didn't immediately return a phone message Wednesday seeking comment.
