Motorcyclist Killed In Aurora After Making Left Turn Too Early
AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - A motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Aurora Tuesday evening.
According to Lt. Michael McClelland, the crash happened just after 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of South Sable Boulevard and East Bayaud Avenue.
McClelland said a 53-year-old man was killed when he began a left turn from eastbound Bayaud to northbound Sable too early and was struck by an SUV.
"Witnesses on scene advised the motorcycle began making his left turn early before the signal light turned green and pulled out in front of southbound traffic on Sable," McClelland said in a statement.
A Dodge Durango traveling southbound on Sable veered to avoid the motorcycle and hit a Ford Expedition preventing the Durango from colliding with the motorcycle.
The motorcyclist, who wasn't wearing a helmet, was thrown from his bike. He was taken to a hospital where he died.
Nobody else was injured.
The victim's name hasn't been released.
