Help For Mother Of 5 After Thieves Steal Christmas Presents

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4)- A mother of five said she will try to save Christmas for her family despite having thieves steal all of the family's presents. Now she won't be doing it alone.

Sally Herrera said the break in happened at her Colorado Springs home while she was out of town.

Some anonymous donors through the United Way heard about Herrera's story and decided to help the family. They're providing presents for all of her children and Herrera since everything was taken.

The house was ransacked and among the items stolen the gifts she had bought for her children that were hidden in a closet.

"I'm going to try my best to get something for them, but I'm going to appreciate that I have my family out of everything else," said Herrera.

Herrera said the crooks even broke into the storage sheds outside her home and stole just about everything of value. In all, thousands of dollars worth of stuff was stolen.

Police said they don't have any suspect information in connection with the burglary.
