Mesa County Woman Recovering From Rabbit Fever
MESA COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - Health experts say a Mesa County woman is recovering after being hospitalized for tularemia, also known as rabbit fever.
The woman was likely exposed to the disease during a rafting trip on the Colorado River last month. She told doctors she was bitten by insects and started feeling sick three days later.
There's been a rise in rabbit fever in Colorado this year. It's Mesa County's first case since 2011.
