Mayor Hancock Appoints New Manager Of Public Works

DENVER (CBS4) - Denver has a new manager of Public Works.

Mayor Michael Hancock introduced Jose Cornejo on Tuesday. He'll be in charge of maintaining the city's infrastructure.

"I'm excited to welcome Jose to our dedicated, diverse city leadership team. His executive caliber, exceptional expertise and global vision will strengthen the department and help to deliver a world-class city where everyone matters," Hancock said in a statement.

Cornejo looks forward to working closely with the nearly 1,000 Public Works employees.

"I look forward to working hand-in-hand with our team, city agencies and community partners to build on this strong foundation," Cornejo said. "Together we will provide the highest level of customer service and work to make the department better, faster and stronger."

Cornejo is an engineer with over 30 years of experience in successfully managing a wide range of infrastructure projects for the private and public sector.
