Man Wounded After Shooting At Aurora Police Officers

AURORA, Colo. (AP/CBS4) - Police say a man has been shot and wounded by an Aurora police officer after the man fired on officers early Saturday.

The Denver Police Department received a call about shots being fired and Aurora officers reportedly heard the shots and went to assist. They came in contact with the suspect in the 900 block of Havana Street in Aurora at approximately 2:49 a.m.

The suspect then fired at the officers and the officers shot back, striking the suspect.

Police say the man's injuries are not life-threatening.

No officers were injured. The officer who shot the suspect will be place on administrative leave during the investigation.

The name of the suspect hasn't been released.
