Man Sentenced In Mugging Of 91-Year-Old Veteran
GOLDEN, Colo. (AP/CBS4) -- A man accused of mugging a 91-year-old Marine veteran on Veterans Day has been sentenced to eight years in prison.
Jefferson County prosecutors say 33-year-old Jose Luis Pizarro of Greeley pleaded guilty to robbery of an at-risk adult in April and was sentenced last week.
The victim, whose name hasn't been released, was thrown to the ground and robbed in the driveway of his Westminster home as he and his wife returned from grocery shopping. Authorities say $400 in cash, a credit card, his Social Security card and his driver's license were taken.
Forty-one-year-old Jill Erickson of Arvada was charged with driving the getaway car. She pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine and was sentenced to three years' probation and 96 hours of community service.
