Man Receives Maximum Sentence For Deadly Hit & Run Crash
DENVER (CBS4)- A man convicted in a deadly hit and run that killed a University of Denver student was sentenced to the maximum sentence on Thursday.
Last month Andrew Simpson was convicted of vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of a deadly accident.
Simpson was sentenced to 18 years in prison Thursday for the hit and run that left Masoud Bahramisharif dead.
Simpson, 46, failed to stop for a solid red light at the intersection of Evans and University on May 31, 2012.
Simpson struck a DU student who was riding his bicycle and didn't stop to help Bahramisharif.
Bahramisharif was rushed to Denver Health Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
