Man Gets 54 Years In Toy Box Killing

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - A Colorado Springs man convicted of killing a man over a $100 drug debt and stashing his body in a child's toy box has been sentenced to 54 years in prison.

The Gazette reports that Jason Bomsta pleaded guilty to second-degree murder earlier this month. Authorities say Bomsta and his wife and two other men beat Duane Maasch to death over a drug debt in June of last year.

Maasch's body was found in a toy box near the Garden of the Gods Park.

Bomsta's three co-defendants also pleaded guilty and are scheduled to be sentenced next month.
