Man Gets 12 Years For Barn Fire That Killed Animals
DENVER (CBS4) - A man was sentenced to 12 years in prison On Wednesday for starting a fire that killed more than a dozen animals in Commerce City.
Narciso Amaya-Bustillos, 37, was sentenced on charges of arson and cruelty to animals. He was also ordered to pay more than $149,000 in restitution.
Amaya-Bustillos started a fire at a horse stable on Uinta Street in May. A dozen horses, a goat and several chickens died in the fire.
The district attorney called it the worst case of animal cruelty he's seen in his more than 20 years as a prosecutor.
