Man Found Dead Following Police Standoff
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - A man who threatened to blow himself up with a propane tank has been found dead following a seven-hour standoff with Colorado Springs police.
Police were responding to reports Thursday that a man smashed the window of a vehicle and had then retreated into his home, claiming he had set booby traps.
During the standoff, police evacuated nearby homes and tried to negotiate with the man. Police say the death is being investigated as a suicide.
