Man Attacks, Robs 79-Year-Old Woman At Macy's Parking Garage
DENVER (CBS4) - Denver police would like the public's help locating a suspect who attacked a 79-year-old woman and robbed her in a store parking garage.
Det. John White with Denver police said on Nov. 21 at about 4:20 p.m. the suspect knocked the woman down as she was entering the Macy's store located at 15 South Steele Street. She was then seriously injured after being dragged outside of the entrance into the parking garage. The suspect got away with the woman's purse.
"Surveillance video captured the suspect approximately 30 minutes later as he used the victim's stolen credit cards at the Glendale King Soopers and Target," White said in a statement.
He's describes as a Hispanic man, 30 to 49 years old, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot- 8, black hair, and clean-shaven.
Police believe the suspect was driving a silver SUV that may be a 1995 to 2004 silver Suzuki Grand Vitara or Chevy Tracker type/small SUV with matching silver plastic tire cover.
"He was clearly desperate; desperate enough to perform this type of act in the middle of the afternoon," White told CBS4. "It just shows that this individual is willing to do this type of thing and it poses a threat."
